What is Rehmannia Blend (Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan):

Rehmannia Blend by Lao Wei is their version of the classical TCM formula Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan, which has a very long tradition of use to benefit the Kidney energy in the body (both yin and yang). It has a wide variety of applications for use, to include:

  • frequent urination (relatively clear & copious)
  • night-time urination
  • some water-retention (used adjunctively with formulas specifically geared to resolving edema and other more "serious" manifestations of fluid retention).
  • fatigue (to include mental/emotional lassitude & boredom)
  • soreness in the lower back and lumbar; also cold to the touch
  • lack of sexual desire

What else you might like to know:

This formula starts with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan-- widely known as "Six Flavor Rehmannia" (or something like that), The herbs in that formula increase the Kidney energy by adding the cooling, nourishing fluids known as yin... Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan adds herbs that warm the Kidney as well, like adding a little wood to the base of the cooking fire so that body systems "keep on cookin!"

For practitioners: This version of Jin Gui shades toward resolving dampness issues and only contains Rou gui (cassia) to warm the Kidney (omitting Fu zi).

Ingredients:

Shan zhu yu (Asiatic dogwood), Huang qi (astragalus), Shu di huang (prepared rehmannia), Cassia (either Rou gui or Gui zhi), Bai zhu (white atractylodes), Cang zhu (black atractylodes), (Han) Feng ji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae root).

Dosage: As a dietary supplement, take 4 pills 2 times a day with warm water.
