What is it?:
Albizzia Tree Bark (He Huan Pi) is the pinyin name for the dried inner bark of a tree commonly known as mimosa or silk tree (Albizia julibrissin Durraz.) that grows wild across Western Asia and Southern China and is recognized for its characteristic wispy whitish-pink-to-purple flowers.
In terms of Chinese Medicine, it is said to "calm the shen" and relieves the insomnia, forgetfulness, short-temper, irritability, and emotional ups and downs associated with pre-menstrual syndrome that come from constraint due to Liver qi stagnation. This herb is mild in this action– so, for example, it might be a good herb to add to a formula like Xiao Yao Wan (Free & Easy Wanderer) when there is insomnia, anxiety, and restlessness (i.e. signs of disturbed shen) in addition to symptoms of Liver qi stagnation (e.g. irritability and breast tenderness).
This herb also invigorates blood and helps reduce bruising and swelling in traumatic injuries and is considered one of the most important herbs to help in this regard. In addition to moving blood and reducing swelling, it also helps generate flesh and mend broken bones.

Ingredients: Albizia Bark (He Huan Pi)
Directions for use:
Shake Well before each use.
Maintenance Serving: Dissolve 1-2 droppers (1/2 tsp.) in warm water or juice 2-3 times daily.
Augmented Serving: Take 1 full tsp. 2 to 3 times daily in warm water or juice or as directed by a qualified herbalist familiar with the use of Chinese herbs and formulas.
To evaporate alcohol place in hot water.
