What is it?:
This cold-water species of kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum- aka knotted wrack, rockweed, Norwegian Kelp) grows in the North Atlantic ocean and is harvested commercially for a wide variety of uses (from fertilizer to food additive). It is highly nutritious as a dietary supplement (notably containing high levels of vitamin A, iodine, and omega-3 fatty acids) and traditionally used by natives of the far North for this purpose. Other notable health benefits include addressing iodine deficiency, reducing systemic inflammation, and helping with weight loss.
North Atlantic kelp is also commonly used as an ingredient in dental care supplements for pets due to an the presence of an enzyme known as B. licheniformis, which works to protect against tooth decay by stripping bacteria away from plaque, thereby reducing plaque & tartar build-up and bad breath... and you can use this particular tincture with your own pet by adding a reduced dose to their meal on a daily basis.
It should also be noted that kelp also contains bio-actives (such as fucoidans and polyphenols) which are systemically absorbed into the body tissues and are clinically proven to reduce oral plaque and improve gum and teeth health.

Maintenance Serving: Dissolve 1-2 droppers (1/2 tsp.) in warm water or juice 2-3 times daily.
Augmented Serving: Take 1 full tsp. 2 to 3 times daily in warm water or juice or as directed by a qualified herbalist familiar with the use of Chinese herbs and formulas.
