What is it?:

Wild Cherry Bark has astringent, anti-spasmodic, and bronchodilator actions which make it a traditional go to for cough suppression, especially for those dry, hacking coughs accompanied by spasms. It is also useful for coughs that linger on after the initial infection has cleared up.

Wild Cherry bark is bitter and as such stimulates digestive secretions (take some 10-15 minutes before a meal). Additionally, its relaxant qualities make it especially useful in cases of nervous dyspepsia (indigestion).

Wild Cherry bark is in the same family as Hawthorn (Rosaceae family), and like its cousin, it nourishes and supports the cardiovascular system and has long been recognized as a remedy for cardiac weakness, especially when accompanied by a chronic cough, palpitations and high blood pressure.

And lastly, its nourishing and astringent qualities help to tonify the skin and reduce inflammation. This makes it a great addition to natural skin care products that help address problems such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and rashes. It is also beneficial as an eyewash for inflamed, puffy eyes

What is it good for:

  • helps suppress cough
  • aids sluggish digestion
  • supports cardiovascular health
  • helps resolve skin issues

This means that you usually have to take an herb or a formula for a longer period of time than you would with pharmaceuticals in order to get results-- usually at least a month, and often times longer than that... it all depends on the individual and the nature of the ailment being addressed.
